Freestyle Motocross

Saturday - 7:30 PM

Untitled Document

Well a wise man once said that good things come in pairs and we found plenty of them tonight. I partnered up with “Radical Rob” tonight to give the good fans of Omaha/council Bluffs a night of Freestyle Motocross that they wouldn’t soon forget. Our night got off to great start as the crowd energy was present from the minute the countdown began and I don’t think I heard them quit cheering the whole night. FMX Qualifyers introduced us to a new face to the IFMA with the introduction of Vegas native Ben Venya who put on an impressive IFMA debut and leading the first round of qualifying. But after all nine riders had finished it turned out to be just shy for the “bubble spot” as Billy Walls earned his place in the “ FULL THROTTLE MOTORSPORTS” FINAL as the top qualifier. Out “FINAL 4” for the evening would end up including Sean Nielson, Chris Taylor, Joe Dirt/Mike Honcho or better known as Shawn Connors, and Bad Billy Walls.

Geoff Aaron would amaze and dazzle as always as he showed off his ridiculous display of bike finesse on the ERE / RED Bull Moto Trials Rig. Miss Jennifer Schneider flew through the air with the greatest of ease as she kicked off the second half of the show by blasting herself 140 feet across the room to a routine landing – I never quite figure out how she does it – but it IS impressive!

The finals would show us that not all would repeat itself as Billy Walls would come out firing at Mr. Chris Taylor comfortably sitting in the hotseat with a 93.0 Billy extension and crowd flair were not enough though to persevere in the end as he would come up a bit short in the scoring category and was edged out of the win by .2 of a point. I guarantee though if the good folks at the Qwest Center had a vote the man on the KTM would have taken home the victory.

One last note, we want to send out our get well wishes to Thomas Alves who couldn’t join us in Omaha this weekend as his trip was cut short due to extreme illness – we missed you but take care of yourself and get well soon buddy!

We had a blast this weekend and can’t wait to come back – Happy St Patty’s Day. Be safe, be merry and be responsible.
