Saturday - 7:30 PM

Things started off with a buzz during the Kansas City Area Toyota Dealers’ pit party. Hundreds of excited fans packed the floor for autographs and pictures with the riders. When the riders took the floor to start the competition there were definitely some nerves jangling as a couple riders laid their rigs down on the arena floor. However, even the slippery conditions didn’t prevent our top four riders from qualifying with scores in the 90’s. So Chris Birch, Sean Nielsen, Jason Rowe and Thomas Alves made their way to the final. Our intermission was followed by the amazing Jennifer Schneider and her 120 foot Cannon shot. Jennifer launched herself 55 feet into the air and landed perfectly in the net to the delight of the capacity crowd on hand. Following her great show the team FMX competition saw another spill as well as thrills with Slade Waltman and Jason Rowe coming out on top with the final tally of 90.0 even.

That set the stage for our final with Chris Birch laying down a solid first run that was quickly surpassed by Sean Nielsen with a score of 91.8. Nielsen had to hang tight in the Toyota Hot Seat as two more riders attempted to wrestle away the top spot. Both gave a game effort including Thomas “T-Money” Alves who tossed out four back flips in his bid to take over the first position. He came up JUST short with Alves scoring 91.6, making Sean Nielsen our FMX Champion.

Also on hand to please the crowd where the boys from hellonwheels.com with Mighty Mike on the mic working the crowd. It was a great night and not even the cold winter night could dampen the crowds’ enthusiasm. David Knisley
