Freestyle Motocross

Saturday - 7:30 PM

Remember the Alamo?  Who will forget it after tonight!

The Alamodome in San Antonio hosted an awesome FMX show on Saturday night.  The crowd was loud and the riders produced a level of show that will not soon be forgotten.  Livenation once again provided a multi-faceted show that flat out rocked.

Speaking of rockin', the crowd's ears were given the heavy jams of a live band. Grim played during the FMX runs and kept the riders moving and the crowd on it's feet.  Without a singer they nailed it every run and showed just how well a Texas band can rock!

The Xtreme Sport Bikes came out to play and do things on a street bike that most could only dream of.  Youngster Aaron Colton won the competition and would you get this- he is only FIFTEEN!  The kid doesn't even have a drivers liscence, much less a motorcycle endorsement and he beat guys that have been riding longer than he has been alive.  Keep an eye on this kid- you will see him again!

The Sphere of Fear was manned by two crazy and insane guys (one a world record holder at 13)  and the fans were amazed that a ten foot diameter steel globe could hold two riders inside looping and slapping high fives.  Miss FMX climbed inside and stood in the center while the riders rode circles around and above her!

The Torco Team FMX had three teams judged by the audience and Billy Walls and Javier Villegas took the win with landslide over Scott Stephens and Dustin Nowak.  The Ogio FMX Qualifier saw four riders jump into the final with Billy leading the way over Javier, Dustin and Trevor Wilder.

That brought us to the final presented by the U.S. Air Force.  Wilder went out on a solid run that saw a couple of mistakes, but he went ahead and knowing a win was out of reach- entertained the crowd like a true showman.  Dustin Nowak went next throwing down some backflip variations but not hitting the third ramp (which had a difficult landing) hurt his score.  It was not enough to keep him in the Toyota Hotseat after Javier's run. Javier "only" did a regular backflip but a super serious run on the rest of the course got him the top score so far.  Last to go was Billy Walls who attacked the course, extended his tricks and was near perfect-the only thing keeping him off the Toyota Hotseat was lack of a flip.  Watch out because word is Billy is hitting the foam pit and if he comes out with a flip- he will be the one to beat in many comp's.  The Safe Auto Insurance Trophy went to an ecstatic Villegas who was super pumped and showed it on the jumbo tron.

Make sure you check out the merchandise here on the site to get the hottest and newest FMX swag, and check out Coast to Coast written by yours truly.  My next stop is Oakland- so get ready Cali and get your tickets today before it sells out!
