It was the Rowe Brothers going 1-2 in Rockford
The snow was falling in Rockford, it was cold outside but the FMX moves inside the MetroCentre were as hot as a tin roof. The final came down to Slade Waltman, Chris Taylor and the Rowe brothers, Jason and Jack. The top qualifier for the final was Jack Rowe, his score was a full 2 points ahead of the next qualifier Chris Taylor.
As the final came down, Slade Waltmann had a rough go and was only able to muster a score of 80, good enough for fourth. Next was Chris Taylor who had qualified for the final in second but his score of 89.3 was solid and Chris was able to finish in the third place spot. So now it was down to the Rowe brothers to see who would take their first win ever in Rockford.
Older brother Jason Rowe put in a solid ride. The crowd liked the hometown kid and it showed in his run, his score was an 89.5. So now it was little brother’s turn, Jack. Jack Rowe set the place on fire, the crowd loved the local kid’s run and the judges returned the favor with a score 92.5. It was a classic big versus little brother and for once, little brother came out on top. Congratulations to Jack on his well deserved first win.
The Rowe brothers put on a great show and better be ready for more stiff competition as more riders are expected to show up for Saturday Night here in Rockford. For now, congratulations to the Rowe brothers for putting on one heck of a show….
See ya tomorrow……Portue’
