It was a grand slam home run tonight in Lafayette baby! With a full capacity crowd, the Cajundome was all riled up. In the opening run the first 4-riders out were having some problems with the ramps. On one of the approaches some leaked gasoline and made for a slippery, dangerous run. But when the OG riders started coming out they would make due with what they had and make some magic happen. It would be Gary Robertson, Greg Hartman, Jason Rowe, and "Ninja" Boy, Brody Wilson making the final cut.
Did somebody say Canonlady? That's right once again the lovely Cannonlady, Jennifer Schneider would shock the crowd with a canon blast that would launch her over a 140 foot gap! The girl is out of control!
Then it was time for MotoTrials rider Keith Wineland, or was it? I pumped up the crowd and called him out, but he did not come. I asked Phyllis the crew kid where he was and he shook his head as to say, I do not know. Well it turned out his clutch broke and he had to go swap bikes. The bike change did not seem to cause and problems as Keith would once again excite the crowd with his precision Extreme MotoTrials skills. In 1997, Keith at the age of 11 became the youngest rider to ride the Colorado Ute Cup. He finished 8th.
In the Team competition it would be a close finish with Gary Robertson and Brody Wilson gathering up 28 points. But it was the Hartman and Rowe tandem that would take the win with a 30 point total!
In the final it was Gary Robertson first, he came out strong but he would miss a trick and wind up with an 88.0. Next out was Greg Hartman. He would stick every trick and the crowd went nuts! That boy was doing some boondoggling. With 2 riders left, Jason Rowe and Greg Hartman, everything was up for grabs. Jason came with a vengeance. He threw out all he had including a sweet KOD and a new trick he added to his arsenal called the stale-fish seat-grab. With a 93 even it was enough to take the hot seat from Greg. Did somebody say 3peat? That's right; once again it was Jason Rowe in the hotseat for the third consecutive show with one rider left to go. It was time for "Ninja" boy Brody Wilson to show off his new improved nun-chuck skills. How about 3 no handed landers, a big supercan-heart attack and a real wicked holy grab! In the end it was enough once again to take win in the end from "Chi-town" Jason Rowe. With a 94.75 this kid showed all the vets of Freestyle MotoX that there was a new kid in town, and his name is Brody Wilson. Way to go Brody! You gotta see this kid ride. For sure a future big name in freestyle MotoX!
Peace,

Saturday 8PM -
SOLD OUT IN LAFAYETTE
It was a full house at the Cajundome Saturday night, and the 10,000 plus crowd was for sure ready for the boys of metal. Tonight was a whole different story as the first riders out were not as sketched out as last night. It was going to make for better runs throughout the night.
In the opening runs it was "G-funk" Garry Robertson, once again breaking it down like a true funkadelic and securing his spot in the 1-800 Safe Auto Finals. All the riders stepped it up, but putting together the best runs and advancing to the four rider Final was Greg Hartman, Jason Rowe and newly nicknamed "Ninja", Brody Wilson making the Final cut.
Before the finals we would once again would be dazzled by the amazing Jennifer Shneider, "The Canon Lady" as she launched an impressive 120 feet above the arena floor safely to her net. She is always a big hit and the crowd was out of their seats after her launch.
In the Extreme MotoTrials Keith Wineland tore it up literally! He hopped from his trials rig to the freestyle landing, an amazing 10 foot leap while 12 feet above the arena floor and his rear wheel grabbed on to the landing lights sending him down the ramp with an unfamiliar feeling. He managed to pull through it and came back later for his finals run and killed it!
In the new Big Trick tourney, where the top 8 riders from the previous night are paired up in a basketball-style tournament bracket, it would come down to the "Gentle Giant" Greg Hartman and "G-Funk" Gary Robertson. Garry threw a nasty 9-O'clock nac and Greg would send out a Cliffhanger that was huge! In the end the crowd would decide, and they chose Greg as the clear winner.
The Finals were off the hook! The boys were fired up and so was the crowd. Garry Robertson would come out first and stuck a solid run giving him a 94! What a score for being first out of the gate. Next out was Hartman, and he was also running solid. With no missed tricks and no repeats it would still not be enough to beat the "G-Funks" 94! Ouch. Time for "Chi-town" Jason Rowe. Would we see a repeat of Jason and Brody again battling out at the end? I thought that would be the case but I was wrong! Rowe would not dethrone the OG rider, Robertson, and it would come down to "The Ninja" Brody Wilson and Gary Robertson. In the interview with Gary after his finals run he maybe had a premonition when he said "I can't compete with the Ninja". Brody came out with panache as if he was making yet another point. With combo tricks galore and landing no hands on every other trick, he simply blew away the Cajundome. The kid is for real and is to be reckoned with! Once again Brody takes the win and sweeps the weekend with two consecutive wins, and the crowd roared "Ninja". That is all she wrote. Way to go Wilson.
