FMX Riders set to invade the Mobile Monster Jam

Monster Jam returns to the Mobile Civic Center this Friday and Saturday night along with a crew of Freestyle Motocross riders set to show the Mobile faithful what it’s all about.

We recently sat down with Freestyle Motocross rider Austin Drummond, a 20 year old from Georgia, on riding and returning to Mobile.  Here are a few highlights from the interview.

So Austin, we understand this isn’t your first time in Mobile.
“No, I actually came to Mobile a few years back with an FMX event and had a blast. The fans were awesome.  They have a really cool arena out there that created a great atmosphere for riding; I’ve been looking forward to coming back!”

How do you feel about riding in Monster Truck shows?
“I love it.  The crowds are always big and the fans get really into our set.  A lot of the fans have never seen a Freestyle Motocross show before so we always go all out for them!”

Who is your favorite Monster Truck?
“I gotta go with Grave Digger on that one.”

What is your favorite trick that the fans in Mobile can expect to see?
“I love doing whips for the fans. It’s always cool going sideways and the fans get really excited about it.”

How long have you been riding?
“I’ve actually been riding for 10 years now, starting way back in Georgia.  Now I’m riding on the Monster Jam tour with a 2008 Yamaha 250.
