HOMETOWN HERO IN STORYBOOK FINISH

Friday - 7:30pm
HOMETOWN HERO IN STORYBOOK FINISH The stage was set for a killer finish in Tucson, AZ. The nice thing is, John Distler, Thomas Alves and myself all got to sleep in our own beds last night up in Phoenix. It definitely helped out Thomas who took the win in the Local Tucson Toyota Dealers FMX Final with a nice 92. He started with a Heel Clicker Flip, then rounded out the run with a Cordova Flip and Turn Down Flip. That run knocked the Fire Starter, Sean Nielsen out of the hotseat who turned in a solid 91 in a comfortable yet technical run. Brian Foster came in third with a run that was smooth as butter. He is a man of few words, but many talents and it showed on Friday. Rounding out the field was Graham Gustin and Jimmie McGuire with a 88 and 80 respectively. The Ride Now Powersports Whip Contest was a no contest win for Wes Agee who is throwing down some of the sickest indoor whips I have ever seen. Wes also took the game of Moto Pig, using what else? A fat turndown whip that no one else could match, right side up that is. The world famous Hell On Wheels BMX Stunt Team brought out tricks normally reserved for television and Keith Wineland rode his Moto-Trials machine to perfection and giving the crowd a few scares as he rode over impossible obstacles. One more for Tucson on Saturday night. There are still good seats left so make sure you come out and bring a friend!
Saturday - 7:30pm ALVES THWARTED IN BID FOR THE SATURDAY NIGHT SWEEP Thomas Alves tried to win all the contests tonight, but one man stood in his way. That man was none other than Brian Foster who was so pumped up he ended up giving the moto strip tease and giving gear away to the crowd. He took the win in the Torco Racing Fuel Moto-Pig contest using an old school trick that many riders never have attempted- the McMetz. In the Ride Now Best Whip contest Wes Agee and Thomas Alves were the finalists picked by the crowd, but then I decided to turn it into a Best Trick finish. Wes Agee did his best to win over the crowd, but Thomas dropped a crazy flip to knock off the win. In the Tucson Toyota Dealers FMX Final Graham Gustin went out first and gave a solid run to get into the hotseat with a 90. Sean Neilsen pushed him out of the seat using a flip to garner a 91.2 while waiting for the rest of the riders to go. Jimmie McGuire rode and inspired run jamming a 92 from the judges and having his turn in the hotseat. Brian Foster came out and tried to overcome a pulled muscle in his back suffered in practice but it was not to be as he could only score a 91. Last out was Thomas Alves. He already had the local crowd on his side when he launched into a barrage of flips and standards to win the title with a 93. As usual the Hell On Wheels BMX stunt team did not dissappoint showing tricks normally reserved for television. Keith Wineland once again thrilled the crowd with his skilled moto-trails exhibition. Tucson has such good energy and rabid fans that doing a show here is a true pleasure and I look forward to coming back. Thanks Tucson!
